“I disown what I have said, and repent in dust and ashes” (Job 42:6)

                     Love alone has the capacity for forgiveness when offended and repentance for having offended God, self, others and environment because human beings are made in the image and likeness of
God
Who Is Love.

A Prayer to Free 1000 Souls from Purgatory

Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the following prayer would release 1000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was later extended to include living sinners as well:
"Eternal Father, I offer thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen"
(Approved and recommended by M. Cardinal Pahiarca at Lisbon, Portugal, March 4, 1936)

Holy -  Holy -  Holy Is His Name: A Reflection at the Stable

 by -Mary Angela Nangini

 With an open heart, gently allow Him in;

 With a humble thought give praise to the Child-King

 the little child who leads those of good will;

With joy accept that He who lives there

loves

forgives

is the All of abundance

to those who abandon themselves to Him;

With great Faith in the God become Man

the New Adam:

rest in the graces of Redemption

when yet as sinners

because God so loved the world

that He gave us His Son

His Mercy

His Love

to share Him from the rooftops

and proclaim the Good News

God lives in me

and I in Him

until all come to be

as One.

Holy God - Holy Mighty One - Holy Immortal One

Eternal Father

by Mary Angela Nangini

“As I lay me down to sleep”

I say the familiar words

of the Mercy Chaplet

and my soul is met

Eternal Father

…and I hear myself in conversation

I love saying these words

Eternal Father

…and my soul is flooded

with the warmth of milk and honey

Eternal Father

having come through the desert

lost

thirsty

abandoned

an oasis Eternal Father?

…what comfort

...what peace

Eternal Father

more than carved in the palm of his hand

Eternal Father

more than resting in the promise of his love

carried in the womb of His Heart

Eternal Father!

The Holy Spirit At Work In The World

If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is surely greater.

1 John 5:9-12

9
If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is surely greater. Now the testimony of God is this, that he has testified on behalf of his Son.
10
Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony God has given about his Son.
11
And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12
Whoever possesses the Son has life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have life.

Inspiration is to Freedom as Temptation is to Slavery

This poem above is written in response to Fr. Philip Chircop's post
on living life as a bird in or out of a cage:
unlike the bird, the freedom of a human being
may be experienced as a "bird-out" of a cage
even when life ensnares us
like the bird in captivity as a "bird-in" that loses its freedom.

St Padre Pio would put it this way: Don't let the many snares of the infernal beast frighten you. Jesus, who is always with you, and who will fight with and for you, will never permit you to be tricked and overcome.  (Correspondence with Spiritual Daughters, Page 51)

"Love does not tolerate delay..." St. Padre Pio

Love does not tolerate delay and immediately upon arrival, they (the Magi) did everything within their power to make Him known; He who had conquered their hearts through the influence of grace, wounding them with the kind of charity which must overflow, because it cannot be contained in the small structure of the heart and must therefore be communicated. St. Padre Pio
 That's why in Luke 1:39, we also read that Mary went with haste to visit Elizabeth: "love does not tolerate delay."

"It is better to be the hammer than the nail."

Tonight I spent a rewarding evening with the women who took me out to the Mandarin for my birthday and the Chinese Proverb cookie I opened said: “It is better to be the hammer than the nail." The closest to this saying is a quote from Emily Dickinson who said:It is better to be the hammer than the anvil.

I Googled it and the variations are also interesting:

The anvil lasts longer than the hammer

Anyone want to suggest their meaning?

Or give examples of real life situations of the hammer or the anvil?

When is it better?

When is it worse?

Is it true that the hammer is not afraid of the anvil?

When is this true or not?

Are there only 2 choices: the hammer or the anvil?

Are there more choices?

Are these sayings related to "fight or flight" or something else?

When does the anvil last longer than the hammer -or does it?

Here's a similar discussion on Albert Einstein's famous quote:

“If you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will forever think it’s stupid.”?

I Am the Alpha and the Omega

 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." (Rev 22:13)
(Haiku poems also based on the words of Angel Azariah to Maria Valtorta in her book "The Book of Azariah")

God is in charge and in control, even when harm comes our way. Remember Joseph's words to his brothers: "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done" and in his case it was "the saving of many lives." (Genesis 50:20)

I found this Bible verse second on the list of  The 100 most-read Bible verses:

Jer 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

No one knows how many lives are saved from eternal death through human suffering offered in prayer with the Power of the Cross.

The Twelve Days Of Christmas: The True Meaning

Holy Humor

HOLY HUMOR
(author unknown)
**A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, "I know what the Bible means!"
His father smiled and replied, "What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?
The son replied, "I do know!"
"Okay," said his father. "What does the Bible mean?"
"That's easy, Daddy..." the young boy replied excitedly," It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving Earth..' (This one is my favorite)

=======

There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country.
"Is there anything breakable in here?" asked the postal clerk.
"Only the Ten Commandments." answered the lady.

========

"Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world. There are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good morning, Lord," and there are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good Lord, it's morning."

========

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter.
Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses."
When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation."

========

There is the story of a pastor who got up one Sunday and announced to his congregation: "I have good news and bad news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program. The bad news is, it's still out there in your pockets."

========

While driving in Pennsylvania , a family caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed sign... "Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do not step in exhaust."

========

A Sunday School teacher began her lesson with a question, "Boys and girls, what do we know about God?"
A hand shot up in the air. "He is an artist!" said the kindergarten boy.
"Really? How do you know?" the teacher asked.
"You know - Our Father, who does art in Heaven... "

========

A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of him. Finally, the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump.
"Reverend," said the young man, "I'm so sorry about the delay. It seems as if everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long trip."
The minister chuckled, "I know what you mean. It's the same in my business."

========

People want the front of the bus, the back of the church, and the center of attention.

========

Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about.
The daughter answered, "Don't be scared, you'll get your quilt."
Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that morning's Sunday school lesson was about.
He said "Be not afraid, thy comforter is coming."

========

The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building. Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute.. The substitute wanted to know what to play.
"Here's a copy of the service," he said impatiently. "But, you'll have to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances."
During the service, the minister paused and said, "Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up."
At that moment, the substitute organist played "The Star Spangled Banner."
And that is how the substitute became the regular organist!

When you carry the Bible, Satan gets a headache..... When you open it, he collapses..... When he sees you reading it, he faints..... When he sees that you are living what you read, he flees...... And when you are about to forward this message.... He will try and discourage you.. I just defeated him!!! Any other takers?

An Ode To Awe: The Abundance In 2013

May our ode to Awe never cease in 2013 as we see, hear, taste, touch, smell and fully experience the gifts of abundance from our God of Love, Truth, Beauty and Goodness even as we live among the ruins of imperfection, rising above our limitations, finding the eternal source of power in the Eucharist -Manna from Heaven: God becomes one of us, calls us to Oneness.

" I strive to make your hearts like unto mine"

January 02, 2013 Message to Mirjana

"Dear children, with much love and patience I strive to make your hearts like unto mine. I strive, by my example, to teach you humility, wisdom and love because I need you; I cannot do without you my children. According to God's will I am choosing you, by His strength I am strengthening you. Therefore, my children, do not be afraid to open your hearts to me. I will give them to my Son and in return, He will give you the gift of Divine peace. You will carry it to all those whom you meet, you will witness God's love with your life and you will give the gift of my Son through yourselves. Through reconciliation, fasting and prayer, I will lead you. Immeasurable is my love. Do not be afraid. My children, pray for the shepherds. May your lips be shut to every judgment, because do not forget that my Son has chosen them and only He has the right to judge. Thank you."

Medjugorje Message of January 2 - 2013

Evil In Competition With Good: and so it shall be until the end of time

Peace in this New Year 2013 among people of Good will
:
Why Good? Why not among those of any will? Because the Good grows out of Love and with Love and in Love while evil has no Love at all. Because evil has no Love, those who embrace it will eventually alienate Love from their true being made by Love and for Love. Good will overcomes evil by not allowing evil to enter or take residence in a heart already full of Love. (Luke 2:14)

I. JESUS AND THE LAW (from the Catechism of the Catholic Church)
#577     At the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount Jesus issued a solemn warning in which he presented God's law, given on Sinai during the first covenant, in light of the grace of the New Covenant:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets: I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law, until all is accomplished. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

"Don't let the many snares of the infernal beast frighten you. Jesus, who is always with you, and who will fight with and for you, will never permit you to be tricked and overcome." St Padre Pio (Correspondence with Spiritual Daughters, Page 51)
